A Story of Stone, River and Village
Once upon a time, at the foot of a high mountain, there was a stone that always looked toward the sun. It would say to itself: “Do you see that river? It is always flowing and restless. What could it possibly be looking for? I, on the other hand, sit right here. I am warm, comfortable, and firmly rooted.”
Yet every morning, the river passed by and whispered: “Oh silent stone! Although you have your place, you never move forward. I keep flowing, and even though I grow tired, I create things: villages, fields, and homes ...”
A year passed. The river continued to flow, while the stone ... remained where it was. But one day, a child from the village came, picked up the stone, shaped it, wrote something on it, and placed it above the entrance of a new school.
From that day on, our village learned that both the stone and the river have their value, if we build the path together.
Sometimes entertainment is not only about laughter. Sometimes a smile comes from a new idea. Let us laugh together, think together, and create a new path in our ancient village.
Perhaps it is time to do things differently, but together, and take a step toward growth.
And Ibn Khaldun, the great thinker and historian, wrote in his Muqaddimah:
